About Us

Thank you for considering Sunset Properties as either your property manager or host for your family's next vacation here on the island of Ocean Isle Beach, NC.

Our company was founded in 1988 by the Tuckers and Stubberts, and has grown over the years to become one of the largest rental management company and real estate sales operations in Brunswick County, serving both Sunset Beach and Ocean Isle Beach. As part of that growth, the company purchased The Odom Company from Al Odom in 2004, and the rental operations of East Coast Realty & Development in 2007. The current owners, Ron & Adrienne Watts, purchased Sunset Properties in 1999 after being homeowners serviced by the company for years.

The company manages approximately 440 homes for short-term vacations. As the company has grown over the years, so has our staff. Today we have more than 25 full-time employees working with us. Our marketing & reservations department has a manager and five staff members. We have a property services staff of six individuals that work directly with our homeowners to meet their needs and make sure the homes are kept to a satisfactory standard. Unique on the island, our company has a maintenance staff that includes a supervisor and a full-time staff of four plus additional seasonal help that take care of minor repair needs. And we offer support staff in accounting and housekeeping to round out the services that we provide. We work with over 200 other contractors that help us with housekeeping and maintenance projects throughout the year.

We offer homeowners an active marketing program. Our website has been designed by Visual Data Systems located in Columbia, MD, and we continually update the site with more features to make it easier to use for both our rental guests and homeowners. We rely on the web, direct marketing, and general media promotion to market to individuals that haven't experienced an Ocean Isle Beach stay yet. Our printed brochure continues to be a part of the marketing mix as well-we distribute roughly 50,000 of those per year.

We hope our best feature is our customer service. Each of our staff members wants to make sure that whether you are a homeowner or rental guest, your stay while on the island has everything to do with relaxing. Whether by playing in the sand and water or simply reading a book on the deck, we hope you'll have little concern about items around the house itself. And if something comes up, our staff will tackle it as quickly as possible.
