Beach Dredging Begins

Beach renourishment work will begin this week on the east end of the island. This $7 million project is scheduled to put another 640,000 cubic yards of sand on the beach strand as part of the Army Corps of Engineering Coastal Storm Reduction Project.
The goal is to complete this work by the end of April, so there may be some overlap with spring break and Easter vacations. If you have any concerns, contact the Sunset Properties rental office for more information. You can get updates from the Town of OIB on their website as well.
