A Fun Filled Day At Alligator Adventure

My family recently had an opportunity to take a walk on the wild side at Alligator Adventure in Barefoot Landing - North Myrtle Beach. This reptile zoo is nestled among beautiful natural marshes and swamps along Highway 17 at Barefoot Landing. It is home to many different kinds of snakes, lizards, turtles, frogs, fish and lemurs.

This popular attraction houses Utan, the largest crocodile on exhibit in the United States. Weighing in at more than a ton and 20 feet long, he was a big hit with the audience. As impressive as it was to see many different kinds of crocodiles and alligators in one location, the lemurs stole the day for me and my family. Another big hit with the children were the river otters and tropical birds.

Alligator Adventure has lots to see and do. We attended an alligator feeding which takes place in a large pond full of alligators (more than 300). In spite of their size and heavy weight, these creatures could really run, jump and stage quite an attack. There is also a snake handling show in which we did not see - not a problem for me.

Ice Cream at Cold Stone Creamery finished off the adventure for us. After a day of hanging out with reptiles and picking out souvenirs of our trip to Alligator Adventure, this seemed like the best way to top it all off. Check out the following website for more information on this hot attraction:
