Location And Beach Cottage are Both Important

When it comes to planning your Ocean Isle Beach vacation, location can be as important as picking the beach house you want to stay in. Most of the time, people want to be as close to the beach as possible. Others may pick a house because of the view or they may want a waterfront property.
The great thing about Ocean Isle Beach is that you're close to the beach no matter where you stay. Our island measures seven miles long and about a half mile wide. The east side of the island tends to be a quicker walk than on the west end. Sunset Beach lies off the west end of the island. If you're up for a little adventure, you can swim or kayak across the inlet to Sunset.
Oceanfront and canal homes usually are at the top of the list for rental requests. These homes fill up fast, even a year in advance. They provide outstanding views and quick access to the water. You'll find that all oceanfront properties on Ocean Isle Beach have direct beach access. You can walk to the beach from any of our oceanfront homes in a minute or two, and the walk from canal homes are only slightly longer. An excellent alternative to canal or oceanfront would be 2nd or 3rd row - in which you can reach the beach in under two minutes.
Canal homes are great because you're located on the water for a reasonable price. You can relax out on the deck and watch fish jump out of the water. Most canal area homes have floating boat docks where you can tie up a kayak, fishing boat, or jet ski. Don't have a boat? - Then set up your lounge chair and enjoy the sun and calming sounds of the canal or fish from your dock.
Mid Island homes are also fairly reasonable in price. You're not directly on water, but you'll be staying in a nice place at a great price. Usually, you can walk to the beach within 5 minutes. A few can take as long as 10 minutes, depending on where you're staying. If your beach house has a roof deck, you'll get a nice rooftop view of the sunset and island.
