Ocean Isle Beach Is Getting Ready For Summer!

Last year you were welcomed back with a new traffic roundabout lush with palms, grasses and flowers. You also found our popular pier’s large game room, small grill and ice cream parlor renewed. This year you will find our on island put-put, River Country Mini Golf looking brand new! It’s getting a major refresh and is scheduled to open for Memorial Day weekend.
Also make sure to visit a new amenity on the island- Shallotte Park, a water front park with pier and gazebo, located on the ICW at the end of Shallotte Blvd. on the east end of the island.
Ocean Isle Beach Home Owner's Association has been working with township on the installation of a play-scape for the kids. I expect it will be in place next to the Coastal Museum by season as well.
Finally, and without promise- I hear we may be getting sky diving at the Odell Williamson Municipal Airport. If we do, it will most likely be only tandem diving- that's where you dive in partnership with the instructor- but that's still very cool. Even if your not a thrill seeker, they are worth a visit as they also offer sight seeing tours. It's a great little airport and like Ocean Isle Beach, it gets better every year. Just last year they added a fueling service and opened a pilot lounge with computers and WiFi for pilot access.
