Oyster Festival Tennis Tournament a Success

Sunset Properties was the presenting sponsor this past weekend for the first Oyster Festival Tennis Tournament held at the OIB Park.The event was hosted by the Brunswick County Tennis Association, Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce, and the Brunswick County Parks and Recreation. Other business sponsors included Palmetto Publishing, D&D Tennis, and Brunswick Community College.
The event raised approximately $1,000 that will be used for community projects by both the Chamber and BCTA.
Winners by division included:
Men's Singles: Champion: Darren Cranfill; Runner-up: Scott Lahti (both shown above with Tournament Referee Dave Gongora)
Men's Doubles: Champions: Dana Leavitt/Roy Mann; Runners-up: Darren Cranfill/Cordell Burham
Women's Singles: Champion: Penny Watts; Runner-up: Haley Wilson
Women's Doubles: Champions: Kristine Roberts/Garin Waters; Runners-up: Mary Jayne Viola/Linda Flaherty
Mixed Doubles: Champions: Chip Eisele/Liz Waldron; Runners-up: Jason Huff/Penny Watts
Girls 14&U: Champion: Penny Watts; Runner-up: Anna James
